KPE Audit Assistant Manager
Location: Audit hub – KPE Reading
The KPMG KPE Reading Audit function is a cornerstone of our business. We do work that matters to our local businesses and communities – supporting investment and economic growth specifically around the Thames Valley region. Working on complex audit engagements, which include PE backed and privately owned entities, we primarily focus on the technology and life science sectors as the largest active markets in the Thames Valley. Our team strives to provide the best-in-class Audit solutions to audited entities who trust us to get it right first time.
What will you be doing?
-Conducting the planning and execution of audit fieldwork.
Supervising and coaching junior members of staff to help them realise their full potential.
-Reviewing the audit work performed by junior team members.
-Project managing the audit delivery, including timelines, team briefings, team supervision, delivery of audit work, and reviews by more senior team members, including Directors and Partners.
-Keeping Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners up to date with progress throughout the course of the assignment.
-Preparing reports to senior management from audited entities and audit committees.
-Building relationships with the engagement and audited entity staff.
-Being the day-to-day point of contact for the audited entity.
What will you need to do it?
- Professional qualification from a recognised accountancy body
- Exposure to working knowledge of International Standards on Auditing
- Sound working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Experience of using proprietary software to manage the audit workflow and document audit evidence
- Experience of managing small teams, coaching and mentoring junior staff
Additional skills we’d love to see
- Audit experience within a ‘Big 4’ consultancy, mid-tier firm, or government / public sector audit department
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAS / PCOAB standards
- Sound working knowledge of US GAAP
