The KPMG Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) Strategy Consulting function is a cornerstone of our business.  Operating from our offices across the UK we do work that matters, serving the country with diligence and expertise.

KPMG is one of the world's largest and most respected consultancies.  We've supported the UK through times of war and peace, prosperity and recession, political and regulatory upheaval. We've proudly stood beside the institutions and businesses which make the UK what it is.

By encompassing a wide range of disciplines across a breadth of areas such as Customer Experience and Digital, Strategy, Forensic, Risk and Regulatory, People and Talent, and Operational and Financial Transformation, we become immersed in our clients' organisations, applying sector knowledge and technology solutions to deliver the best possible outcomes and get it right first time.

Why Join KPMG as a Senior Strategy Consultant

We have an exciting opportunity to build your strategy consulting knowledge and skills capability across UK central government and the wider public sector.  As a Senior Consultant in IGH, you will be a true advisor to your clients, understanding their business issues in order to provide them with a clear strategy and then helping them to actually implement the changes needed to transform their business.

What will you be doing?

  • As a Senior Consultant (Manager) within IGH Customer, the candidate will be responsible for delivering customer transformation projects across the Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) sectors
  • Spend 80-90% of your time working with clients and KPMG colleagues, leading teams or working as part of a larger team, depending on the size and nature of the engagement
  • Contribute to practice development, for example leading internal initiatives to build industry, people or technical expertise
  • Coach and develop team members and act as a performance manager in a matrix environment.
  • The market for enabling technology is intrinsically linked to the customer agenda and therefore, the role requires detailed understanding of wider capabilities across Strategy, Insight and Technology/ Data deployment through hands on delivery experience

What will you need to do it?

  • Proven track record of successful delivery of complex transformation programmes of at least 6 months in duration with a focus on customer/citizen outcomes
  • Experience of using and refining structured consulting methodologies to deliver client outputs
  • Experienced in writing proposals for new projects and taking accountability for estimating work effort and resourcing required to deliver project outcomes
  • Experience supporting the successful implementation of customer experience technology solutions (CRM, Website, Portals, Apps, Contact Centre solutions) as a business analyst, service designer or change manager
  • General management consulting skills, including project / programme management, strategy development, business analysis, stakeholder management and problem solving

Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras:

  • Experience gained from within a major consultancy focussed on target operating model design and implementation.
  • Proven background in setting up, design and implementing customer centric change programmes.
  • Experience in the application of customer and digital maturity assessments, as well as qualitative and quantitative customer research.  Ability to build on the research/assessment outputs into strategy, service design or technical deployment plans
  • Experience in one or more of our focus sectors: Infrastructure, Transport, Central Government, Local Government, Healthcare or Higher Education is preferable, but we are open to experienced Strategy Consultants from other sectors who are keen to work with clients in the public sector.
