KPMG's Infrastructure and Government Strategic Advisory Services (SAS) team needs talented individuals who have a passion for built infrastructure. Our team supports government and infrastructure clients with their most complex challenges.
We get involved in many fascinating projects. We develop strategies for the implementation of government policy, designing operating models that underpin public services. We structure holistic supplier relationships that create and maintain physical and digital asset systems.
Typically, the advice we provide can be categorised as:
Policy, regulation, and service model design
Business operating model design and implementation
Procurement and commercial strategy

We are working on some fascinating public issues including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) implications for the public sector and its partners, the future structure of the rail sector, the implications from the rise of electric and autonomous vehicles and how to deliver some of the largest most complex infrastructure programmes in the UK.
What will you be doing?
- You will perform a critical role contributing to client workstreams, supporting business development, and helping our team to grow and develop.
- Generate hypotheses and take ownership in storyboarding in cooperation with the team
- Lead the design and delivery of small projects and / or large, complex work streams
- Produce client ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require limited review
- To work effectively with clients whilst delivering engagements and act as an ‘ambassador’ for KPMG
- Contribute to the development of the team and fostering our collaborative and supportive team culture
- Provide timely feedback and coaching to your team members
- Work on the development of our propositions and knowledge base
- Support the identification of on-sell / cross-sell opportunities
- Build and maintain a strong internal and external network
- Demonstrate high levels of drive, ambition, and ability to collaborate at high levels of intensity
What will you need to do it?
- Demonstrate deep expertise and an ability to generate insights in the sector with a demonstrated passion for working on critical issues facing the infrastructure sectors
- Experience working on procurement transactions, ideally for infrastructure projects and programmes
- Background in developing client operational and/or supplier delivery models
- Ability to lead parts of complex infrastructure delivery model design including commercial and procurement strategy
- Ability to display involvement in business development activity e.g. building relationships with clients during engagements
- Experience in contributing to thought leadership and knowledge management activities
- Be comfortable handling ambiguity and changing client demands
- Strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras:
- Experience in Water, Energy or Power sectors
- A passion for learning and maintaining knowledge of trends in the latest thinking related to client operational and/or supplier delivery models
- Professional qualification (or working towards one) such as MCIPS, MRICS
