Job description

Audit Pursuit Leader (Senior Manager, based anywhere in the UK)

Job description

Audit has a key role in building confidence and trust in society. At KPMG, we want to be the clear choice on the future of audit. And we’re looking for pursuit leaders to make sure we’re the clear choice for organisations that need assurance.

We want you to bring your passion and energy to help us win the most desirable new business and keep our most prized existing relationships. You’ll be working on opportunities for KPMG to audit some of the UK’s largest companies – as well as in some of our fastest growing areas, like ESG assurance and private enterprise.

We’re looking for people from a variety of backgrounds. We can teach you about audit and how we win in the market. What we need from you is confidence and experience of what it takes to influence people in their decision making, including developing authentic arguments and evidence-based conclusions. And the appetite to bring that experience to help us plan, prepare and present winning proposals.

Your new role

As part of this role, you’ll lead pursuits by:

  • Applying your experience and KPMG audit pursuit methodology to define the pursuit strategy and plan, develop communication tactics and strategies, generate creative ideas, create the value proposition and coach teams to succeed.
  • Developing trusted relationships with our lead audit partners. Providing coaching, challenge and counsel as they navigate interactions throughout the pursuit process.
  • Constructively challenging and supporting teams to ensure their messaging, relationships, approach and pricing are competitive and compelling.
  • Creative writing and editing of key elements of our communications (e.g. value propositions, presentations and executive summaries) to differentiate KPMG from our competitors.
  • Understanding, coaching and educating teams on what good looks like – improving their pursuit skills and chances of winning.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience and insight of what it takes to influence others in making decisions. From a pursuit/sales background or somewhere completely different (e.g. communications, law or advertising).
  • Strong stakeholder management and organisation skills and the ability to prioritise, coordinate teams and influence senior colleagues.
  • A proactive nature, initiative and an open-minded approach.
  • The ability to build rapport quickly and develop working relationships with the most senior people across the firm.
  • A talent for storytelling, persuasion and communications and the ability to apply it in written, verbal and visual formats.
  • A willingness to learn what makes KPMG successful in the audit tender market. And an appetite to learn new techniques and approaches to winning work.
  • Curiosity and interest in new, creative ways of reaching the companies we work with, building trust and demonstrating KPMG’s value.

For immigration purposes: Professional accounting qualification preferred, however not a requirement.

We want to lead the conversation when it comes to shaping the future of the profession. And given the scale and variety of our audit engagements in both the UK and globally, we are well placed to create change.
