In the Global Business Services (GBS) consulting team we partner with our clients to innovate, realise business outcomes and secure value for the enterprise. We are a team of go-getters, with extensive consulting and industry experience. We work with big brands and well-known clients across Corporates, Private Equity, Infrastructure, Government, Healthcare and Financial Services; and along with our colleagues across the KPMG offerings we deliver sustainable, transformative and technology enabled solutions for our clients.

The Role
As a senior member of the GBS team you will work across all markets, focused on supporting the build out and delivery of market leading GBS solutions including GBS Strategy, Target Op Model design, Next Generation GBS Capabilities, GBS Transition/Implementation and Business Process Outsourcing advisory from RFI to RFP to selection and contracting.
Successful candidates should have prior significant experience in consulting, as well as in-depth knowledge and delivery experience BPO advisory plus at least one other and ideally two-three of the GBS proposition areas highlighted above. Your responsibilities as a client facing senior manager will include:
Engagement delivery
- Play a leading role in delivering cross-functional programmes and projects of a large size and complexity, including the strategic shaping, planning, managing and executing the delivery of engagements, the writing of client reports and quality assurance of work products
Risk management
- Identifying and managing risks, managing engagement assurance, engagement commercials, and ensuring the Firm’s risk management frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively
People development
- Coaching and mentoring colleagues across the GBS team to support individual team member development needs and enabling their career growth
- Taking on performance management responsibilities, contributing to annual talent reviews and supporting career progression
- Playing an active role in supporting colleagues within the team and in the wider firm, taking responsibility for cultural improvement and living the KPMG values
Business Development:
- Supporting the establishment and development of relationships both internally within KPMG and externally with clients, as well playing a lead role in business development activity to secure future programmes of work
- Originating opportunities for the firm through existing and growing relationships, as well as developing, contributing to and presenting proposals. Expanding existing engagements to address client challenges or business areas beyond the initial scope
- Supporting the development of market leading materials, leading KPMG’s presence at events, and creating publications for our website on areas of specific expertise
Practice Development
- Supporting the design and creation of KPMG specific GBS propositions, assets and intellectual property – tailored to markets we work in
- Supporting leadership with internal operational responsibilities for the team such as revenue planning, resourcing, recruitment, and wider team development
- Work with other teams to grow the knowledge and understanding of GBS to aid joint working when on multi-disciplinary roles.
The Person
Successful candidates must:
- Have previous consulting experience in a Global Business Services practice of a leading professional services firm with specific experience of Business Process Outsourcing
- Be an excellent people manager who can lead teams and develop/coach others, including peers
- Have experience of delivering end-to-end multi-functional transformation programmes rooted in GBS operations and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to achieve transformation and business outcomes
- Have experience managing teams to deliver to deadlines and required quality standards including experience developing, coaching and mentoring team members
- Be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the GBS operating model including systems, data, processes, controls and governance
- Meet as minimum the requirements of Baseline Personnel Security Standard as outlined: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/government-baseline-personnel-security-standard
Successful candidates should:
- Have an ability to articulate trends in GBS and the challenges facing GBS organisations across several industry areas, including the public sector, particularly central government and healthcare clients.
- Have a deep knowledge and understanding of end-to-end GBS processes and their interdependencies to deliver a seamless experience to customers
- Having experience of projects that are driven by technology (e.g. Enterprise Resource Planning)-enabled change – aligned with shared service design and implementation approaches,
- Be an excellent communicator with the personal skills to build strong and lasting internal and client relationships; and the ability to deliver clear, concise, focused messages to senior business leadership or clients
- Be an active listener and a strong team player
- Have flexibility to travel
- Holding an accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/ICAS/CIMA or equivalent experience) would be preferable
