Life as an Apprentice
Sophia’s story
Sophia joined us as an apprentice in Tax - “Before starting as an apprentice, I didn’t know what the working world was like. I struggled to visualise my future, and achieving a successful career felt distant. The KPMG community has boosted my confidence and there’s no limit to where a KPMG Apprenticeship can take you.”
Experience a day in the life of a KPMG Apprentice
Step into the shoes of a KPMG apprentice during our virtual day-in-the-life experience. Test your skills, and find out more about the day-to-day experiences of our apprentices, the work they deliver and the skills needed to succeed.

Upcoming events for students
Come as you are: Join our virtual careers and Social mobility event
This event is open to all students eager to explore their career potential, especially those who feel that they face additional barriers when entering the world of work due to their socio-economic background. Proving that apprenticeships can be the starting point of an exceptional career, our hosts from KPMG’s Social Mobility Network will be sharing their experiences and advice for students making decisions about their own future. We’re also thrilled to be joined by Jack Parsons, successful entrepreneur and Co-Founder of the careers show Duvet Flip. Jack, also a former apprentice, is a passionate advocate for improving health, careers and financial wellbeing for young people.

Ask our Apprentices Anything!
We’ll be hosting an Instagram Live with NGTU on the 26th February. Save the date and follow NGTU for the chance to ask a current KPMG Apprentice about their experiences and bust Apprenticeship myths! Connect with us on TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn for more careers content from KPMG.

About our programmes
Why choose an apprenticeship at KPMG?
We know that making decisions about further education and your career can be overwhelming. A KPMG Apprenticeship is a great option for students who are keen to take on real responsibility and get ahead in their career. Here are some of the best bits:
- Be supported to gain a university-equivalent degree or professional qualification with a structured learning programme, mentoring and study time
- Earn a salary of £23,000 - £25,000 and get qualified without taking on any student debts
- You don’t need a Freshers Week to have a social life, you’ll be working alongside other apprentices with many opportunities to socialise through work, sports clubs, employee networks and volunteering opportunities
- You’ll work on projects that make the difference to our clients and communities. Helping businesses to operate more sustainably and make a positive contribution.
