At KPMG we want to develop talent at all levels, and encourage those from diverse backgrounds or with different perspectives to thrive. But we recognise that there can be barriers to that, whether they’re actual or perceived.
Our Personal and Professional Development Programme, GROW, aims to support our diverse talent overcome these barriers by providing them with the skills and strategies to successfully steer their careers. The six-month programme is aimed at talented women, ethnic minority, LGBT and disabled colleagues and colleagues from a lower socio-economic background at Manager and Senior Manager level, who want to develop their leadership style and skills, and progress through to the next stage of their career at KPMG.
Through a range of facilitated workshops, group coaching and action-learning sessions, delegates have the opportunity to develop strategies for success, understand the impact of their personal brand and develop techniques that support authentic stakeholder management. It’s about building skills and confidence and reaffirming that the things that make us different can help us thrive in the workplace.
One of the greatest benefits to delegates is the opportunity to build their internal network with colleagues at a similar stage in their career. We support these networks to develop through the peer-to-peer learning elements of the programme and regular networking opportunities.
